Participants of the Iconographic Arts Institute's Summer Retreat at The Resurrection Catholic Parish in Oregon, June 2015.
Summer was a busy time for ESAG members Nerrisa Ng and Christine Lim-Labossiere, as they both traveled to Portland to attend the Summer Retreat at the Iconographic Arts Institute from June 19-27, 2015 to learn more about Sacred Iconography. Part of the course included attending mass at the Church of the Resurrection Catholic Parish in Tualatin, OR. The church is filled with beautiful floor to ceiling icons written by instructor Mary Katsilometes, who is in the fifth year of a seven year project commissioned by the church. During the intense week-long course, held at the Queen of Angels Benedictine Monastery at Mount Angel, Nerrisa worked on 3 icons of Our Lady under the instruction of Intermediate Instructor Kathy Sievers, while Christine wrote an icon of the Holy Face under the instruction of IAI's Beginner's Instructor Ania Kocurek-Williams.
Nerrisa receives instruction from Kathy Sievers during the week-long course at IAI.
